We are a New York–based brand, founded in 2025, creating sculptural leather bags that feel like wearable art.
More than that, we want to be a space that promotes creativity, self-expression, and wonder, inviting everyone to discover their most creative and boldest self.
Our bags are handcrafted in small batches by skilled Colombian leatherworkers with decades of experience. Using high-quality leather, we combine artistry, care, and heritage to create lasting pieces, honoring both the planet and the people behind them.
About the designer
I’m Alejandra Ortega, the founder and creative director of Made in Neptune. I found my place in the world through creating and designing.
I was trained as an architect, which deeply influences how I think about structure, shape, and form. I’m from Colombia and come from a family with a strong tradition of leather craftsmanship.
Creating my brand became my way of bringing together everything I am and everything I love, art, spirituality, and my family’s leathercraft heritage. Made in Neptune is the surreal world I’ve built around those passions, inspired by the planet Neptune, and a space where I can fully express myself.
Why Neptune
Neptune is the planet of spirituality, dreams, the subconscious, magic, and surrealism. It was after deeply connecting with my spirituality that I decided to start my brand. Made in Neptune is my way of saying that the brand was born from that place, from my inner world and spiritual journey.
I am deeply inspired by surrealism, dreams, and magic. I believe that magic exists and comes to us in unexpected ways. The planet Neptune represents everything I want to communicate. It is a reflection of me and the very DNA of my brand.
